A wonderful set of examination results have been gained this year by the college's students
Abbey College Manchester GCSE and A-Level Results 2011

A record breaking set of A-Level results were achieved by our Class of 2011 students. They are to be warmly congratulated and all the staff at the college wish them continued success at university.

A Level Success

The college is justifiably proud of its record breaking A-level success.

This year the A-Level examination results have been excellent. The results reflect the tremendous hard work of our students.

•    33% of examinations taken scored an A* or A Grade (up by 6% from last year)
•    62% of examinations taken scored an A*, A or B Grade (up by 11% from last year)
•    84% of examinations taken scored A* – C Grade (up by 9% from last year and the highest ever)
•    96% of examinations taken scored A* – D Grade (up by 2% from last year and the highest ever)
•    99% of examinations taken scored A* – E Grade (up by 2% from last year and the highest ever)

Our students have gained entry to a wide range of competitive university courses including Medical, Biological, Physical and Computer Sciences, Engineering and Maths, Humanities, Economics, Accounting and Business and Art & Design.

One Year A-Level Results

The college is justifiably proud of its brilliant One Year A-level success.

A superb set of results saw 85% of students who came to us from other schools and colleges to retake one or more A-levels increase their grades.

Our students have gained entry to a wide range of competitive university courses including Medical, Biological, Physical and Computer Sciences, Engineering and Maths, Humanities, Economics, Accounting and Business and Art & Design.

GCSE Results

The college is delighted to report a strong set of GCSE results which are well above the national average.

This year the GCSE results achieved by our students have been excellent and are testimony to all the hard work the staff and students have put in over the last year. Key findings from this year’s results were:

• 29% of all exams taken achieved grades A* or A
• 51% of all exams taken achieved grades A*, A or B
• 77% of all exams taken achieved grades A*, A, B or C; which falls above the national average of 70%

Many of the students will be continuing into our Lower Sixth A-level programmes. We wish them all every success in the next two years.
