Results Summary 2013

Our students again have produced a fantastic set of examination results.
Abbey College Manchester A Level, BTEC, International Foundation Programme and GCSE Results 2013

Another outstanding set of examination results have been achieved by our Class of 2013. The college is very proud of their accomplishments and they reflect the hard work, the dedication and effort of the staff and the love and support of parents and guardians – all of us working together to achieve success.

We now extend to our new alumni our very best wishes as they go forward; the college is confident they will take with them the spirit of Abbey College Manchester and strive to make a difference in the world.

A-Level Results

The college is extremely proud of its students’ achievements over a wide range of A-Level subjects.

Yet again the A-Level examination results have been outstanding. The results reflect the tremendous hard work of our students.

• 30% of examinations taken scored an A* or A Grade
• 63% of examinations taken scored an A*, A or B Grade
• 84% of examinations taken scored A* – C Grade
• 97% of examinations taken scored A* – D Grade
• 99% of examinations taken scored A* – E Grade

Our students have gained entry to a wide range of competitive university courses including Medical, Biological, Physical and Computer Sciences, Engineering and Maths, Humanities, Economics, Accounting and Business and Art & Design.

One Year A-Level Results

Great results from this cohort are being celebrated by students, teachers and parents.

Another brilliant set of results saw the overwhelming majority of students who joined us from other schools and colleges to retake one or more of their A-Levels increase their grades and get into their university and degree course of choice.

Several students also took one or two A-Levels from scratch with us in just one year and achieved excellent passes.

Our students have gained entry to a wide range of competitive university courses including Medical, Biological, Physical and Computer Sciences, Engineering and Maths, Humanities, Economics, Accounting and Business and Art & Design.

BTEC Programme Results
The Business and Science BTEC Programmes continue to show remarkable success.   Since the Business and Science BTEC Programmes were introduced they have proved extremely popular with 20 students completing them this year. As many, if not more, students will be undertaking the programmes during the 2013/14 academic year. The results this year have been nothing short of fantastic with many students achieving distinctions and merits. This reflects the hard work that all the students put in. GCSE Results

A strong set of GCSE results have been gained this year which are well above the national average.

This year the GCSE results achieved by our students have been excellent and are testament to all the hard work the teachers and students have put in over the last year.

Key findings from this year’s results are: 1% of examinations taken scored an A Distinction Grade; 13% of examinations taken scored an A* Grade; 23% of examinations taken scored an A* or A Grade and 53% of examinations scored and A*, A or B Grade.

We are delighted to say that one of our students took 6 subjects and achieved an amazing 5 A* Grades and 1 A Distinction.

Many of our students will be continuing onto our Lower Sixth A-Level programme. We wish them all every success in the next two years with us.
