Originally established in 1990 as a dedicated facility for science and maths A Levels, we now offer a full range of courses and are one of the fastest growing colleges in Manchester.
We give our students an exciting, stimulating learning environment in which they can raise their expectations and fulfil their potential. They come from Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and beyond, and are treated as young adults. In return they are expected to adopt a mature, responsible approach to their studies.
Friendly, enthusiastic and passionate tutors, small class sizes and a strong focus on personal support build confidence in students which, in the vast majority of cases, leads to greater achievement.
We aim to support students in achieving exam success and also promote a deeper appreciation of the value of learning. |
The staff know everyone well and we foster a sense of community and mutual support among the students. Unlike most other schools and colleges, our students don't get lost in the crowd.
Recently Abbey College moved to a new, larger, state-of-the-art building in the heart of Manchester. With more than 25 classrooms, three well-equipped science laboratories, an I.T. suite, a media room and an art studio, we have the facilities to deliver innovative and varied lessons.
Our city centre location means our students can benefit from the many arts, business, cultural, sports, music and heritage resources on offer that help in their learning and personal development. |
