“I came to Abbey College Manchester because I wanted to give myself the best education possible. I had heard good things about the college which turned out to be true. The teachers were great and were patient with me. The location was also ideal as it is right in the centre of the city. I was one of a few Vietnamese students at the college. This was nice because it gave me the opportunity to meet students from all over the world and learn about their cultures whilst still having a close group of friends. I also met lots of students from Manchester. My two years at the college have given me great memories. While I am delighted to be going to a fantastic university, I shall miss the college.”

“I will look back with great happiness at my time spent in Manchester at Abbey College. I have made many great friends during my time here and I move on to City University London with nothing but thanks for all the staff that have helped me during my two years here. Their doors were always open if I needed any extra guidance which was really valuable. UCAS support is excellent here too. My tutor helped me prepare my application and gave me good advice on how best to write my personal statement. I lived at the college residence with fellow students whilst studying here. That gave a great balance between living independently while still having the support of friends and House Parents.”

“I came to study at Abbey College Manchester in September 2013 to study for my A-levels. At fi rst I was really nervous about studying away from home and not knowing the language very well but I do not regret coming here for one second. I have made many great friends, learnt a lot about British culture and have fantastic memories of my time here. I received great help with my English by attending IELTS classes which were vital in helping me understand my subjects. The college is quite small and so you feel part of a community where people want to help each other. My teachers were always there for extra help if I needed them and their advice during the UCAS process was invaluable.”

“I came to study at Abbey College Manchester in September 2012 to study GCSEs. It is a small college and there is a real sense of community here. A-levels were a step up in difficulty and work load but the study skills I learnt from my tutors and teachers helped me manage that much better. The class sizes were small too. I could ask the teachers freely if I did not understand a topic properly. I listened to the advice from the UCAS support team and they prepared me thoroughly for the whole process. Outside of the classroom, I was a member of the ‘Abbey Band’ as a guitarist and pianist. I have loved my time here. I would recommend the college to anyone thinking of studying in the UK.”
