Student doing work

We are delighted to announce that Abbey College Manchester will be moving to a new boarding house from the start of the next academic year, September 2021. This is exciting news for us and for our students.

Our new accommodation is called Clydesdale House, which is located in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, just a 10 minute walk from college. It is purpose built student accommodation owned and managed by a company called Almero. The students will be in en-suite rooms, and each “cluster” of rooms has a large common room, with table, sofa and television and a large kitchen. Laundry, secure bike storage and more communal spaces are available on the ground floor. It is available to all students aged 16 and over from the 1st September 2021. Our younger students will continue to be cared for by local host families.

We will still be providing three meals a day and because this new accommodation has enhanced kitchen facilities, we will be expanding upon the current menu to include more variety of freshly cooked, nutritious dishes.
The new accommodation offers all the security features of our current accommodation, in that it has its own secure entrance, 24 hour on site security, CCTV and house parents living on site.

Chris Randell, Assistant Principal Boarding and Pastoral commented. “The accommodation is of a very high standard and provides our students with the perfect environment in which to study and relax ensuring they get the most from their time at Abbey College Manchester.”

Further information about the new boarding accommodation can be found on our boarding page.
