Abbey College Manchester Hosts Inaugural University Fair

4th January 23

In October, Abbey College Manchester has hosted its inaugural University Fair, offering valuable support to students with their university applications and sharing an insight into next steps.

Held in the learning centre at the leading independent college, students and staff members were joined by representatives from nine leading universities across the UK including UCLan, Aston University, University of Southampton, Manchester Metropolitan University, Liverpool John Moore University, University of West England (Bristol), UA92 Manchester, Plymouth and Keele University.

Students had the invaluable opportunity to speak with university partners, discussing the different degree courses on offer and gaining first-hand insight into what it is like to be a student at their campus.

The anticipated event was also attended by 2020 Abbey College Manchester Alumni, Weronika, who after achieving top grades in her IFP (International Foundation Programme) Business, secured a coveted place at the University of Manchester. At the University Fair, Weronika shared with the students her experiences of university applications and life, and was on hand to answer any questions.

Principal Chris Randell commented, “Our first University Fair was a huge success and we were very proud to receive incredible feedback from all university representatives about how engaging and articulate our students are.
At Abbey College Manchester we are committed to ensuring that our students gain places on the best and most appropriate degree course for them, and that they are equipped with the skills needed to go forth and thrive. Our specialist University Support Team at the college provides expert guidance to enable students to make the right choices and to build competitive applications; the University Fair was the perfect opportunity to build on this support further and we hope to make it an annual event.”
