We are delighted to announce outstanding success for our students in the ISA North Art Competition, with several current and former students receiving top awards across a range of categories.
Year 13 student Mika won First Place in the 3D Art category (Key Stage 5) for the imaginative and expertly crafted Mad Hatter’s Hat. Fellow Year 13 student Aimee was awarded First Place in the Key Stage 5 Sketchbook category, recognising the creativity, dedication and development demonstrated throughout her work.
Former Year 13 student Archie achieved First Place in the Key Stage 5 Textiles category for his innovative chair design, while former student Rebecca was awarded Second Place in Key Stage 5 Fashion and Textiles. Another former Year 13 student, Nikolas, secured Second Place in Key Stage 5 Photography, completing an impressive set of results for the College.
Speaking about her success, Mika said: “When I got the news that I had won the ISA Arts North prize for my ‘Mad Hatter’s Hat’ I was so pleased and grateful that my work was chosen. I’m really excited to be going into the final.”
Aimee added: “I spent a lot of time on my sketchbook, so to have it recognised in this competition is a great reward for my effort.”
Claire Rigby, Head of Creative Arts, commented: “We’re delighted that once again our students have come top in several categories. We’re always proud of their hard work and so happy for them to receive this recognition.”
These exceptional results reflect the creativity, commitment and talent of our students, as well as the support and expertise of our Creative Arts staff. Abbey College Manchester has a strong history of success in the ISA Arts competitions, consistently achieving top results and demonstrating the high standard of teaching and learning within the department.
