About Us

Abbey College Manchester is an independent day & boarding school for students aged 14 – 22 years old, situated on Cheapside in Manchester city centre.

High quality teaching delivered in a supportive environment

Abbey College Manchester has a unique teaching philosophy in an academically rigorous but informal setting. It has a diverse community of students from Manchester and around the world, which allows class discussions to take a wider focus, providing different views to many aspects of the world.  This allows our students to be truly global citizens and prepared for a globalised work environment.

Students are part of a small and friendly community. The supportive and caring environment means that no-one gets lost in the crowd.

At Abbey College Manchester, we foster independence.

Students are encouraged to embrace their independence, and we support them as they gain the life skills that will be crucial to their future success.

Sixth Form years are a time of transition for many students as they prepare for life after school.  Students receive highly personalised support and guidance. We offer an environment where students thrive, build confidence, and exceed their expectations.

The college building is situated in the heart of Manchester city centre and is easily accessible by bus, train or tram. Our modern building provides an environment conducive to study and in our small classes each student can develop their individual aptitudes aided by a strong system of tutorial guidance.

What our students have to say.

“Abbey College Manchester encouraged independence and personal growth. I appreciated the diverse student community, which made the experience more enriching, and I developed friendships with people from diverse backgrounds. The relaxed yet focused atmosphere helped me balance my studies with my social life, creating a well-rounded experience.” Rebecca, Year 13 leaver, Summer 2025
