Marc-Gerard Cronin

Marc joined Abbey College Manchester in 2004 and has had a variety of roles including Head of Sociology, Head of Year and Head of House.  In January 2021 he was promoted to Assistant Principal with responsibility for the Pastoral and Boarding.  He has also spent many years assisting students with their university applications. In March 2026 he was promoted to Head of College, supporting James Kid, Executive Principal.

Before joining Abbey College Manchester, Marc studied International Relations and completed a Masters in Strategic Studies, the later with a focus on the development of India and Pakistan’s nuclear capability.

Marc lives in the Peak District and enjoys walking the hills with his family. In his free time he also enjoys reading and is an enthusiastic football fan , supporting Liverpool FC and regularly attends matches.
