The Lord Mayor Opens New Learning Facilities

21st September 12

New A level and GCSE learning facilities

The Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester, Councillor Elaine Boyes, and the Lady Mayoress joined Liz Elam Principal at Abbey College Manchester, teachers, students and friends and guests, on 20th September to officially open our £100,000 state of the art learning facilities.

Students will now benefit from a whole range of impressive new learning facilities including a new well-equipped fourth science laboratory, an apple mac photography suite housing the latest hardware and software, a quiet learning and IT zone within the refurbished common room area, and a new staircase and foyer with a digital display.

We are passionate about providing class leading amenities for our students, and this investment is testament to our firm commitment to ensuring we meet this end.

The Lord Mayor was really impressed with all the facilities and spent over an hour touring the college meeting students and staff before officially unveiling a commemorative plaque. It created a fantastic buzz around the college both before and during the visit.
