Abbey College Manchester Charity Christmas Evening

Generous and talented Abbey College Manchester students and staff were full of festive spirit when they took to the stage for a special Christmas showcase which raised £400 for Francis House Children’s Hospice in Didsbury.

A packed audience at the city centre Unitarian Chapel in Cross Street was encouraged to join in with a whole host of Christmas carols and songs throughout the evening, which was a huge success.

Students showcased their singing, musical and drama prowess and the staff singing group, the Abbey Singers, belted out a number of Christmas carols, all in aid of the college’s chosen charity, Francis House, which provides essential support for families and their children, who have been diagnosed as having life threatening or life limiting conditions.

The Principal Liz Elam said: “The Christmas evening was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the college community and raise much-needed funds for the children’s hospice.

“Our students and staff have an amazing array of artistic talents, and as always the standard was extremely high.

“It was a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable way to bring the year to a close. The show was a great success and we hope our audience was thoroughly entertained!”
