Abbey College Manchester Student Great Manchester Run Success

Abbey College Manchester entered a team of volunteers for the Great Manchester Run on 26th May 2013. The Run was 10 kilometres long and started and finished in Manchester city centre.

It was a fantastic day and everyone enjoyed the experience. 9 students did the run as well as 9 teachers from the college (including the Principal). They all wore the special t-shirts designed and printed out especially for the race.

Over £1,500 was raised for the Francis House Children’s Hospice. The team set up a page on the Just Giving website where donations can still be pledged here.

The students taking part gained experience of working as a team and a feeling of satisfaction that something special had been achieved for a great cause.
