Thought Provoking Religious Studies Conference

25th November 13

A Level Religious Studies conference

Recently students studying A Level Religious Studies attended a Philosophy of Religion and Ethics Student Conference. This was held in King’s House Conference Centre in central Manchester.

The key note speaker was Professor Keith Ward Regius Professor of Divinity Emeritus at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of the British Academy. His lecture considered the links between the thought of Thomas Aquinas and the cosmology of the latest Stephen Hawking Book “The Grand Design.”

The students came away from the day inspired by the experience and at the end of the day the students spent some time talking to the Professor about his book “The Word of God.” They found the whole day very thought provoking – especially the way in which the speakers linked current ideas in philosophy, science and religion.
