Glittering Awards Ceremony

Local councillor Elaine Boyes praised the achievement of the Abbey College Manchester’s talented students at a glittering Awards Ceremony recently. She delivered a short speech to students, staff and their families, before her and Richard Purchase, the Development Director of the Alpha Plus Group, handed out an array of awards to the top students recognising a range of their academic, personal and social achievements.
160 people enjoyed the event in the Lord Mayor’s Parlour Room at Manchester Town Hall. The ceremony is held just before the final examinations so it’s important for the students to sustain their hard work and commitment, and make one final push. These students are approaching the end of their time at the college and are just about to embark on a new education adventure at university so it is the perfect time to look back on their wonderful achievements here.

Liz Elam, the Principal of the college, was overwhelmed with the event: The graduation ceremony is a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work throughout their time at the college. The night was spectacular and something that will stay with the students as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
