Great Manchester Run Success

29th May 14

Abbey College Manchester Students at the Great Manchester Run

Abbey College Manchester entered a team of volunteers for the Great Manchester Run on 18th May 2014. The Run was 10 kilometres long and started and finished in Manchester city centre.

It was a fantastic day and everyone enjoyed the experience. 6 students did the run as well as 5 teachers from the college. They all wore the special t-shirts designed and printed out especially for the race.

Over £2,000 was raised for the War Child charity. They carry out admirable work to protect children who are living in extremely difficult circumstances worldwide.

The team set up a page on the Just Giving website where donations can still be pledged with the link here.

The students taking part gained experience of working as a team and a feeling of satisfaction that something special had been achieved for a great cause.
