Abbey College Manchester Charity Food Help

Abbey College Manchester students were extremely generous in supporting a call to help Manchester residents suffering from food poverty. Recently a group went to drop off the food donations to the warehouse of the Manchester Central Food Bank on Oxford Rd.

Once there they were met by delighted volunteers who were very impressed with the amount of food the college had managed to collect. They donated 20 bags of supplies. These will give assistance to Manchester residents in desperate circumstances who need emergency supplies of food.

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, and our students donated all sorts of items from toothpaste and soap to boxes of chocolates.

The Manchester Central Food bank primarily serves the local area of Ardwick, Longsight, the City Centre and parts of East Manchester and a big well done to the students for generously supporting the local community in this way.
