We are delighted to be offering A level Textiles as a option for students from September 2022.
Textile design is an exciting course involving learning about designers and their work, artists who use fabrics and needlework, and techniques that equip students to design and create their own garments and stitched pieces of work. Students will be involved in workshops and activities through which their understanding and experience of the art of textiles and fashion will expand. Visits to galleries and museums will further enhance their understanding, as students are encouraged to develop their own responses to set tasks. This course is an excellent choice for those interested in applying to study Fashion Design courses at University. For those interested in Fashion Management, combine Textiles with Business. Textiles A Level can be studied alongside Art or Photography A Level – both subjects compliment the development of creative expression of ideas and can contribute to a portfolio of work to show at interview.
