Abbey College Manchester Celebrates Class of 2025

20th May 25

Abbey College Manchester, a leading independent college in the heart of Manchester, recently celebrated its Year 13 Graduation Ceremony at the historic Unitarian Chapel on Cross Street, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of its students.

Throughout the anticipated occasion, graduation certificates were presented to all students, alongside a selection of academic prizes awarded to those who demonstrated exceptional performance across various subjects. These accolades recognised individuals who had consistently shown dedication, excellence, and a passion for learning. The ceremony highlighted not only the academic success of the students but also the camaraderie generated amongst the college’s community through the years of students studying together and combining their efforts to push one another to success.

Donning their best attire, the graduating cohort was dressed to impress for the joyous event, with a trio of current Abbey College Manchester students taking up the mantle as photographers for the celebration and documenting the essence of high-level accomplishment across the college’s ‘Class of 2025’.

The evening was filled with pride and elation as outstanding students were honoured for their achievements. Among the highlights was Liujia, crowned Boarder of the Year, who also received impressive university offers from Durham, Lancaster, and Manchester to study Business and Management. The title of IFP Student of the Year went to Thun, who is now on a promising path toward a career in Architectural Engineering, with offers from top institutions including Bath, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, and Nottingham. Celebrating excellence beyond the classroom, Michael was named Footballer of the Year, recognised for his dedication and performance on the pitch.

The evening concluded on a high note with the presentation of the prestigious A Level Student of the Year award to the exceptional Bahar, a fitting end to a night of inspiration and achievement.

Commenting on their time at Abbey College Manchester, Bahar said: “One of the best parts of my experience has been meeting friends from around the world and getting to know different cultures. Living in the city centre has been amazing – everything is so accessible and lively.

“Academically, I’ve felt very supported. The teachers are not only knowledgeable but also approachable and friendly, creating a comfortable learning environment. Small class sizes made it easy to communicate, ask questions, and get individual attention. Teachers always made sure everyone understood the subject fully, which really helped my confidence and progress. Next year, I’ll hopefully be studying Medicine at the University of Nottingham, and I feel well-prepared thanks to everything I’ve gained from my time here.

Principal Chris Randell addressed the graduating class with words of praise and encouragement, acknowledging their achievements and the determination they had shown during their time at Abbey College Manchester. The message was clear – the skills and values developed at the college will serve them well as they move on to the next phase of their lives.

Chris Randell, Principal, Abbey College Manchester, commented: “This day is not just a celebration of academic achievement, but a recognition of the strength, spirit, and ambition of each of our graduating students. We are proud of everything they have accomplished and excited to see where their paths will take them next.”
