The rigorous preparation that the college does with its students wishing to apply for these competitive degree courses reported on in the last newsletter has certainly paid off.
Recently Liz had a very interesting brand awareness trip to Tirana in Albania. She visited two schools in the capital and spoke to students in Years 9-12 about studying in the UK.
The college has secured a ground breaking link with St George’s University Grenada that will benefit those students who are looking to undertake degree courses in medicine or veterinary science.
A Chinese banquet was prepared for the students in the learning centre of the college to celebrate the New Year. The students enjoyed it so much that there was not a scrap of food left afterwards.
An exciting, fresh and different boarding experience is offered by Abbey College Manchester to its students both local and international. Riverside House offers high quality, safe accommodation within a 15 minute walk of the college and it is proving a bit success with the students.
A talented A-Level student is currently combining his studies in Mathematics; Business and Chemistry with his passion of karting.
The annual Art and Photography trip this year took in the wonderful city of Valencia. We started with a guided walking tour of the old city and saw some of the important historical buildings such as the Silk Exchange, the beautifully restored trading centre and the Cathedral that houses the Holy Grail.
Seven students took part in the Senior Challenge and all of them came in the top 60% of all those who entered nationally. Two students achieved a Gold award with the rest receiving either a Silver or Bronze award.
