Abbey College Manchester is celebrating another successful year for its International Foundation Programme and Preparation Pathway for University students, with 97% of students passing their courses and achieving excellent results across a range of specialist pathways.
Students performed particularly strongly in STEM-focused programmes, with an average grade of 73% achieved on both the Medicine and Engineering pathways. Students on the Science pathway also delivered an impressive performance, achieving an average grade of 71%.
These results reflect the hard work and commitment of students, alongside the expert teaching and personalised academic support provided throughout the programme. Abbey College Manchester’s International Foundation Programme is designed to prepare students for progression to leading UK universities, combining rigorous academic study with dedicated university application guidance. The Preparation Pathway for University is designed for local British students and follows the structure of the International Foundation Programme, offering progression opportunities to a range of UK universities.
Speaking about the results, Head of College Marc Cronin said:
“We are delighted with this year’s International Foundation Programme and Preparation Pathway for University results. Achieving a 97% pass rate is a testament to the dedication of our students and staff. The excellent average grades across a range of pathways demonstrate the strength of our academic provision and the outstanding preparation our students receive for university study. We congratulate every student on their achievements and look forward to seeing them succeed in the next stage of their education.”
From September 2026, we plan to combine the International Foundation Programme and Preparation Pathway for University into one programme known as the Foundation Programme which will be open to both British and International students.
